My second stay in this cottage complex. Much has changed and improved since my last stay. Fantastic accommodation in a beautiful setting. Peaceful and private with all the amenities of home you would expect. Very good quality fixtures and fittings, linen too. Nice have have all cleaning products and basics available, teabags, coffee, sugar and milk, also treats like crisps and biscuits too. Lovely!

Just returned from a 3 night break with my mum and sister. We couldn't fault the accommodation, it was perfect and as described. So close to the forest and the wonderful Shepherds Baa cafe too. The sheets and towels smelt so fresh and the cottage was spotless. Loved saying good morning to the robin and listening to the owls in bed at night. A perfect break away, thankyou!

Beautiful location and cosy accommodation! The four of us came for a mini break not too far from home, and it was perfect. Peaceful, comfortable, and everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We mentioned to a lovely chap (wish I’d asked his name!) that we’d forgotten to pack eggs and butter, and he kindly went off and came back with fresh ones, such a thoughtful touch.
We enjoyed lovely walks through the forest and around the lakes during the day and relaxed around the fire pit in the evening. There’s plenty do without having to travel far. Highly recommend - we’ll be back!!

Such a lovely location, it was easy to find with easy instructions to find and with pictures, which made it so easy. The place itself was just like the pictures and felt right at home. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was lovely with plenty of equipment so it really was a home from home. Also a cute welcome pack with plenty of info on the area, and local places to eat and supermarkets etc. Beautiful area, and great place to go for walks and explore. The coffee place just round the corner was brilliant! The coffee was so good here and staff were friendly and helpful. The voucher went down a real treat, thank you! Would highly recommend and would love to come back again

Absolutely adored our short stay at The Finches. The property looked just like the photos & was very clean. It was a stunning, peaceful location in the forest. I went for several runs through the forest & round the nearby lakes which was wonderful. We had some great days out with our 9yr old daughter - we hired a self-operated boat & did some of the broads from Wroxham & spent the whole day at the wildfowl centre Pensthorpe. What a gem of a place this is! Absolutely everything exceeded our expectations, from the quality of the cottage and everything in it, to the gorgeous location right in the heart of the forest, and its wider surroundings. Perfect for a peaceful getaway, with beautiful walks and cycle routes from the doorstep. And the brilliant Shepherd’s Baa cafe is a great little drop-in for breakfast, coffee and ice creams throughout the day. We loved every second of our stay and thoroughly recommend it to anyone seeking peace, nature and the perfect place to unwind.

We had a lovely week at Woodcutters lodge. The accommodation was spacious and had everything we needed. Communication with the owners was great, we needed to contact them a couple of times and they were really responsive. The location of the lodge is perfect, so many walks right from your doorstep, the arboretum is fantastic, and I’d recommend the coffee cabin. We loved the rental. It's beautifully tucked into the forest with lots of trails. They supplied all we needed. We had two little kids and it was very kid friendly with games supplied, friendly resident pets, and even a nice gift of creamer left in the fridge. Would love to stay again.

We had a great time stay at the woodcutters cottage. Great central location if you’re happy to drive to different locations for the day. On the other hand plenty of stuff to do locally also. The cottage was lovely to stay in and also practical for our 18 month old being on one floor. High chair supplied was nice and safe for the little one. He loved the bath! Will be booking again in future no one will be disappointed if they stayed.

Crossbills is absolutely stunning - the surroundings are incredibly peaceful and the cottage was absolutely gorgeous - it feels very luxurious and contemporary but in a way that's really sensitive to the building. Everything you can want is provided, fluffy towels, milk, super comfortable bed, enough space for a short getaway and clear to follow instructions both on how to find the place and how things work once you're there. We liked it so much that we've already booked another stay! Thank you so much - it was absolutely everything we needed and so much more than we expected.

One of the nicest places we’ve been with our multi generational family. Uniquely different cottages with comfy beds and amazing under floor heating. Everything we needed to make our stay a pleasant one.
The fire pit was brilliant and there’s a large private garden space for sports, yoga and Easter egg hunts!

Gorgeous cottages, set in an ideal location for people wanting a quiet getaway in the beautiful Norfolk countryside. Our family of 13 were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble. Little extras like dishwasher tablets, tea towels, toiletries, lots of wood and paper for the fire, bbq, complimentary snacks and a free drink from the almost onsite cafe were a really kind touch. Mobility scooter friendly accommodation meant we could take all the family so three generations enjoyed much valued time together.

What an amazing place! If you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of life this is perfect. The private walled garden gave us the perfect safe place to sit and unwind in. The location on the edge of such a beautiful place was such a gem to find. We had so many walks from our doorstep we parked the car up and just explored during our stay! the cafe on site is definitely one to recommend! Decently priced for scrumptious food! The cottage was spotlessly cleaned and had been decorated really tastefully. The kitchen had everything you could wish for! We will be recommending to friends and certainly returning to stay

We have just had the most wonder 2 night stay at woodcutters lodge, everything was as described and the crisps, biscuits and drink voucher was a great touch. The kitchen had all basic supplies, we loved all the touches of oil, salt, pepper etc. The heated flooring was lovely and kept the cottage comfortable at all times. We loved the cards and dominoes on the coffee table kept us entertained as we purely came for relaxation and some peaceful walks which is exactly what we got. You sink into the bed and the addition of TV in bed or on the sofa was great! As busy parents it was so lovely to get away from being mum and dad for 48 hours and just recharge. We are already looking at booking our next stay and also looking at bringing the children too. The decor and accessories have been done to a high spec and it really shows. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts.

Staying at Finches was a lovely & relaxing mini break for my husband and I and our 2 X under-10s this Half Term. Finches was cosy, well appointed and comfortable. We really appreciated the beautiful well kept garden (a relaxing view out of every window!) and everything we needed for the girls’ to toast marshmallows over the fire pit had been organised by our host. My partner and I had an amazing stay at Woodcutter’s Lodge - we wish we stayed longer than two nights! Beautiful lodge, completely spotless. Really spacious and cosy. The huge bath and double showers were such a treat! The bed was insanely comfortable and the pillow was the comfiest I’ve ever slept on. Lots of counter space in the kitchen, plenty of places to sit, and soft blankets to keep us warm. A peaceful break in the forest and a highlight of our January! Finches cottage was perfect for a short winter break for our family of three. A perfect location in the forest, easy to find and lovely and homely. The underfloor heating kept us snuggly warm on cold winter evenings and the fire pit was perfect for toasting marshmallows. We had a lovely walk through the forest and stopped at Browns for a delicious breakfast. This place is a popular spot but doesn’t feel overcrowded with too many people. The cottage was really perfect for our break and we’ll be back again.

It's right in the forest so you can just go for a walk on the doorstep. The cottages are a good size for a short break, we cooked a full Christmas dinner for 3 of us and it didn't feel cramped! Really cozy and secluded but also close enough to a town/shop if you needed something. It's clean and modern and the hosts are really easy to get hold of and friendly. The little extras, like milk, were a super sweet touch so it really makes you feel like they care about their visitors! Love this place!

The underfloor heating in Woodcutters Lodge was great to help us dry our jeans and boots. Our third year visiting and the autumn colours did not disappoint. It’s such a lovely spot. Pop your wellies on and you are straight in the woods. The lovely Shepherds Baa is on site with lava hot coffee to warm you up. The accommodation is lovely, warm and beautifully kept and welcome treats are so well received. We did miss the Halloween pumpkin carving and face painting at the Ba this year but the kids had a super time visiting Banham Zoo and Go Ape at Thetford High Lodge as well exploring the amazing park at High Lodge and sensory trail. Simply stunning!! The cottage 'Wagtail' is gorgeous. We return as many times a year as we can. The location is set in beautiful Lynford Water. A lovely area for long walks; right next door to Lynford Arboretum. The Shepard's Bar outside the gate is lovely. (the free drink voucher is a great touch). I booked this stay for a proposal. They were excellent in accommodating my plans, and even popped some bits in the cottage for when we returned. (she said yes, don't worry)

A really lovely little cottage, extremely comfortable and well equipped. We all slept so well with just the sound of the owls in the forest. The gardens outside the terrace of cottages were beautiful, as was the pavillion for evening fires. We loved being able to leave the garden and be right in the middle of a arboretum, with stunning autumn colours. The shephards baa coffee hut had some extremely indulgent offerings, and the complimentary drink was a great touch. We'd definitely return for a weekend getaway!

The cafe on site was brilliant and the lawn great for games! We used the fire pit in the evenings and thoroughly enjoyed making s’mores with a few drinks. An amazing time!

We had a great family break! Finches cottage is perfect for walkers, runners, cyclers and nature lovers. We spent most of our time wandering the forest. There's also lots to do and see locally including National Trust sites and a lovely local village. The grounds of the house are lovely and there's space for the children to run around outside in a safe space.

What a beautiful place Finches was to stay, so peaceful too. The cottage had everything we could possibly need. The boys loved playing outside and riding their bikes round the woodland. The cottage was spotless and so homely. We loved toasting marshmallows in the fire pit too. Definitely recommend this place and would 100% visit again. The little shepherds baa was great too. Stayed at Lynford Gardens Holiday Cottages for the second time this week. Loved it so much on our 1st visit in August / September we couldn't wait to come back. Stayed in Wagtail this time. Lovely and comfortable, well equipped throughout and clean. Beautiful location. We will definitely be back. Woodcutters Lodge was just what we needed after issues with our own house - we needed to be able to get away and relax. This ticked all the boxes. We ate out with friends who live nearby one night, spent a day at Aqua Sana spa, and walked the surrounding woods.

We had a great stay in Finches cottage. Extremely quiet with no light pollution .. we woke up thinking it was still the middle of the night only to find it was well past our usual waking up time! We had a lovely walk in the forest and a tasty drink and cake from The Shepherds Baar. Treats left were gratefully devoured. Cosy space. ..easily accommodated a group of three. The underfloor heating was easily controllable. Good kitchen/cooking facilities. Would definitely recommend

We had a two night stay in the Woodcutters Lodge which was absolutely beautiful. The quality of the fixtures and fittings along with the modern facilities were just perfect. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need including a wine fridge. The bed was very comfortable leading to a couple of really good sleeps. There is a large garden with a couple of deck chairs and BBQ.
We had a perfect weekend going on a couple of walks and a couple of bike rides. We had fish and chips from the local village one night which were also very good. You have to try the Shepherds Baa coffee shop on the estate for lovely snacks and cakes. Michelle looked after us very well. All in all a perfect weekend away.

The cottage is in the most beautiful peaceful location to spend time relaxing …. We had the most incredible stay in Wren Cottage. Only stayed for two nights but it was wonderful 😊 Cannot thank the team enough for getting our room ready for us. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever stayed in. Bathroom had fresh fluffy towels and the shower was lovely. The kitchen is fully functioning with oven, hobs, kettle, fridge freezer, toaster, dishwasher and washing machine. The walks around the area were close by and amazing to watch the birds and hear them in the morning. You can also hear the RAF planes above when they pass by 🥰 Thankyou for a lovely stay, we will be back ❤️

Came for my birthday and had the the most amazing week. The cottage is in a perfect location! Everything required is in the cottages like kettle, toaster and even tea and coffee, washing up liquid etc. We absolutely loved it especially the two dogs who we miss already! A lovely set of cottages, beautifully situated in fantastic surroundings. The arboretum is literally right there and is magnificent. Lovely for morning walks finishing off at the shepherds baa (😄) for a coffee and a snack! Loads of parking of course. There's not a lot to do in Mundford but the food in the crown hotel was excellent. A real delight! We loved every minute of it. PS. A short drive to the Twenty Churchwardens pub ... excellent pints and a quiet pleasant atmosphere.

Other B&Bs could learn a few pointers from these hosts. Milk in the fridge when you arrive and everything you need after a long journey. Exceptionally friendly and welcoming. This was our third trip here, so we are familiar with some of the lovely walks and surrounding countryside on offer and on your doorstep. We are looking forward to booking again already!

Been coming to Lynford Gardens for a few years. The accommodation and the area is absolutely 1st class. Our favourite accommodation and area to stay. Would definitely recommend to families, couples, and individuals. Ticks all the boxes. Surrounding area has great forestry, reservoir, and sporting days out at the High Lodge Thetford Forest. Don't forget Brandon country park, as well as the Arboretum (right on doorstep). Shepherd's Baa is a must. Amazing snacks and drinks. Fabulous place to stay.

We flew from Japan to England and we were not sure where to stay. We could have stayed in London, Cambridge, or Oxford areas. However, the sheer beauty of the place and its uniqueness drove us to stay at the Cottage, and the fact that it is surrounded by a forest made our decision even more appealing. The place is well equipped with all the amenities of a home and fast internet to watch Netflix, etc. It was an excellent choice of a stay! Super cozy and lavish decor, including a fire pit, BBQ, and areas to eat outdoors! We loved it! I would stay there again.

Highly recommended. The home was very clean and modern. It is in an area that is very quiet. The host left us some snacks/milk in the home and they also gave our family a voucher to use at the Shepards Baa food truck on site. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

I use this place very frequently for work purposes, have stayed in most of the cottages and they all meet (and exceed) the standards that are advertised. No detail has been left out ensuring they're set up to give customers the feeling of being at home whilst being away, ideally placed in the forest to suit the travelling worker, fitness & nature enthusiasts & its still local towns & and cities. What makes this place really special is the people who keep it going & looking perfect all day everyday. They are all passionate about the site which was once an overgrown wreck and has now been transformed onto the most tranquil setting one can imagine. The bookings team, grounds staff & houskeeping staff really do go out of their way to make every visit special, they're a credit to the owners who also live onsite with their friendly dogs. My absolute “go to” place when I’m working in the area kitted out with everything required to ensure customers gave the most perfect stay. 10/10….outstanding !!!

Robins Rest is a serene cottage in the middle of forest. I like the style of the cottages and the location of the place. Quiet area surrounded by woods. A lot of wildlife and serene forest paths to enjoy. The cottage was very comfortable and clean. Beautiful decor and lovely well kept gardens. Definitely recommend for time away from the city lights.

We had a lovely stay at Wagtail Cottage. The space was perfect for us as a family of 4 with two under 5s - plenty of space and the outside area is amazing by for kids. Love the nearby Shepherds Baa cafe and the voucher for drinks and snacks was a very welcome touch. We were visiting for a wedding so didn’t see much of the local area but really enjoyed the peace and quiet, the birdsong and the trees. Directions were clear and communication great throughout. Set in absolutely beautiful gardens with a bbq and stocked undercover fire pit area. The photos do not do the place justice and the site really needs to update them to let people know what a lovely place it is.

What a beautiful weekend we’ve had here. We came to celebrate our 6 year anniversary and brought along our 1 year old, this was a spontaneous trip booked the night before arrival and I’m so glad we chose Melanie’s Finches cottage. The home itself was beautiful and clean, lots of space and well equipped, there was even a cute picnic basket with a cool box to use. The surroundings were equally as stunning, so tranquil and peaceful (even with a 1 year old). We had full use of the walled & gated garden as well as the fire pit outside, which we made use of on our first night, everything down to firelighters were provided for us which was even better. The hosts really have thought of everything with these properties. Although there is more than one property within the grounds, you feel as though you’re completely on your own, and have plenty of privacy. We also had a complimentary drink each gifted to use for the Shepard’s Baa. We would 100% recommend and rebook ❤️

We stayed in Finches Cottage towards end of February with family. House is beautiful and you feel it the moment you step inside. Check-in was easy and everything was well arranged. Onsite EV charger was really useful for us. Location is awesome and we went for bird watching every day of our stay. Host was very quick to respond with any queries we had. Nearby pubs serve good food. We will look to revisit in summer.

We had a really nice relaxed stay in a beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting. The Wren studio was very warm, comfortable and clean & in such a beautiful setting on the property & all around. We loved the fire pit area & did use it one evening. The Shepherds Baa on the corner is fantastic but soup & toasties would make it perfect 😉 but the cakes, bakes & coffees are delicious. A very peaceful relaxing place to stay.

Our 4th time in Mundford and we love the place. It is a beautiful setting and the cottages are all clean, well equipped and nicely outfitted. The wall garden is great for kids and we just feel right at home amongst the trees. Highly recommend.
